
The Sleepy Eye Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 2026 healthcare scholarships. These scholarships are designed to support area high school seniors who are preparing to pursue careers in healthcare and demonstrate a strong commitment to serving others.
Investing in students today means strengthening the future of healthcare in our communities tomorrow. Through these scholarships, the Foundation proudly supports young leaders who will one day care for neighbors, advance medical knowledge, and help ensure access to quality healthcare close to home.
The deadline to apply for all scholarships is March 27, 2026.
Dr. Murthy Medical Scholarship
Presented by Dr. Venkata Murthy of Sleepy Eye Medical Center
This $500 scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who are residents of Sleepy Eye and/or attend high school in Sleepy Eye and plan to pursue a health-related field in college or technical school this fall.
Two students from Sleepy Eye Public School and two students from St. Mary’s Catholic School will be selected to receive the Dr. Murthy Medical Scholarship.
Chisey Hansen Family Memorial Medical Scholarship
Presented by the family of the late Charles “Chisey” Hansen, former Hospital and Foundation Board member
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who is a resident of Sleepy Eye and/or attends high school in Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye Public School or St. Mary’s Catholic High School) and plans to pursue a health-related field in college or technical school this fall.
One student will be selected for this scholarship, honoring Chisey Hansen’s lasting commitment to local healthcare and community service.
Dr. Murthy and Chisey Hansen Medical Scholarship
Presented by Dr. Venkata Murthy and the family of the late Charles “Chisey” Hansen
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Cedar Mountain High School who plans to pursue a health-related field in college or technical school this fall.
One student will be selected to receive this award.
