Sleepy Eye Medical Center (SEMC) is proud to announce that its Obstetrics Department has been recognized by the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) with an award in the Community Benefit category for advancing health equity and care quality. The award was presented at the MHA annual conference last week.
The honor celebrates SEMC’s 2022 Spirit of Giving Gala, which successfully raised funds to acquire state-of-the-art fetal monitoring equipment. This effort, which united SEMC staff, local businesses, and community members, significantly enhanced patient care and staff efficiency, demonstrating SEMC’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of Sleepy Eye and the surrounding areas.
Representing SEMC at the MHA conference were Chiloe Kottke, Director of Nursing; Rachel Severson, Health Information Management, Quality and Compliance Manager; and Josie Hacker, RN, Discharge Planner; who accepted the award on behalf of the medical center.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the Gala and our mission to enhance care for our community,” said Chiloe Kottke, Director of Nursing. “Special thanks go to Amanda Christensen, RN, OB Lead, for her outstanding leadership and dedication. This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and the positive impact we can achieve together.”
