Kids 6 months to 5 years are now able to gain additional protection against COVID-19 through vaccination. Starting June 27, you can schedule your child’s appointment at SEMC.We understand that deciding whether to vaccinate your child can be a difficult decision, but we are here to answer any questions or concerns that you have.
As you consider vaccination, we want you to know the following:
- The FDA has conducted very careful and thorough review of safety/effectiveness data for children under 5. No significant safety concerns were raised in clinical trials.
- Children with OR without underlying medical conditions can become severely ill from COVID-19. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent serious infection, complications, and death related to COVID-19.
- Children who have already had COVID-19 get added protection by getting vaccinated after being infected.
We know you’ve worked hard to protect your youngest children from the virus since the pandemic’s start. You’ve made sacrifices, difficult decisions, and managed a rollercoaster of emotions along the way. The good news is you can now protect your infant and youngest children with a safe and effective vaccine.
