Ghosts, witches and skeletons—on my! The hunt for the perfect Halloween costume is on. For the sake of National Physical Therapy month, we’re partial to the latter.
Throughout the month of October, we celebrate our physical therapists and therapist assistants—experts of skeletons and all the muscles that attach to it. We also acknowledge the many ways this form of therapy can improve the health of patients.
Support During the Restorative Journey
Together, our physical therapy team works to provide quality, comprehensive care to assist inpatients and outpatients in achieving their highest level of function. We assist patients who have lost mobility regain and improve their ability to perform daily activities at home, in the community, or in physical activity (sports).
Our team provides care to restore movement and function for people disabled by disease and injury. Keeping your unique needs, abilities, and objectives in mind, we create a therapy plan that quickly and effectively restores your optimal health.
Versed in several areas or disciplines, our team treats newborns to older adults. From torticollus in infants and torn ligaments of athletes, to muscle imbalances and survivors of stroke, we provide compassionate care and support during the restorative journey.

General Department Information
Hours: Our therapy department is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We typically see patients beginning at 7 a.m., and our last appointment is usually between 3:45 and 4 p.m. – based on the length of time needed.
Location: We are located in the Lower Level of Sleepy Eye Medical Center. We ask that you register upstairs at the patient registration desk for your first therapy appointment. This way, we can update your patient and insurance information. After your first visit, you will not need to stop at the registration desk.
Referrals: While some insurances do not require a written referral from your provider (doctor or nurse practitioner), we recommend that you always check with your individual insurance policy prior to making a therapy appointment; all insurance plans differ in their requirements. Medicare patients are required to have a prescription/referral for therapy.
Scheduling: You can contact the therapy department at 507-794-8466, and we can help you schedule an appointment or let you know of your scheduled therapy time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we appreciate a call prior to your scheduled appointment.
