Sleepy Eye Medical Center will offer reduced-price 3D mammograms for women 40 years of age and older throughout October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Why 3D Mammography?

Three-dimensional mammography creates 3D images of the breast with clarity and detail by imaging the breast in multiple layers. By viewing each layer separately, a potential cancer is less likely to be obstructed by overlapping breast tissue. In turn, fewer biopsies and additional tests are needed.

In addition, SEMC encourages patients to contact their insurance provider to see what is and isn’t covered under their plan. This will help determine if a $100 3D mammogram is the best and most appropriate option.
