Frequently Asked Questions
How do I begin speech therapy services at Sleepy Eye Medical Center?
Establishing care with our speech therapist requires a physician's referral. Once a speech order is obtained, patients will undergo an initial evaluation to identify any impairments and determine the need for further therapy.
My child receives speech therapy services at school during the academic year but not during the summer months. Can he/she receive speech services at SEMC during summer vacation?
Continued therapy is excellent for ongoing improvements and can prevent potential regression over the summer months. If you'd like your child to continue therapy in the summer months, he/she will need a separate order for services in the clinic setting. Once that is received, we can begin!
Please contact our therapy department at 507-794-8466 or speak with your provider if you have questions about speech therapy at SEMC.
