How you eat\, sleep\, move\, work and play influences your health in countless ways. \nThe Sleepy Eye Medical Center 5K Run/Walk for Health celebrates and encourages all kinds of physical activity\, whether it’s running\, walking\, jogging or pushing your little one in a stroller. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. *No bikes or pets\, please.  \nRace Details\nThe 2019 5K will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday\, September 7 around the Sleepy Eye Bike Trail. Check-in will take place from 8-8:45 a.m. at the east entrance of Allison Park\, Sleepy Eye. \nThe top three male and female finishers will receive a medal\, and all participants will receive a healthy snack breakfast. Proceeds benefit the wellness programs at Sleepy Eye Public School and St. Mary’s Catholic School. \nRegistration\nPlease see the top of this page to register for the 5K. Those who register by August 24 are guaranteed a complimentary DryFit race t-shirt. After this date\, shirts will be distributed on a first-come\, first-served basis. Online registration will close at midnight on Wednesday\, September 4. However\, same-day (in-person) registrations will be accepted on race day. \n*Children 12 years of age or younger who do not want a t-shirt may attend for free (do not need to register).

SUMMARY:Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Sleepy Eye Medical Center offers a Caregiver Support Group for caregivers\, family members and advocates the third Wednesday of the month (beginning November 20\, 2019) from 1-2 p.m. at SEMC. The group is open to all ages and welcomes anyone who cares for a loved one with a debilitating health condition\, memory loss\, dementia\, or any other physical or mental condition. \nSupport groups can be a great source of comfort and strength. The mission of SEMC’s Caregiver Support Group is to provide a place for caregivers to gather and talk about their struggles and realize they are not alone. \nLearn from others going through similar experiences as you. \nCaregivers will: \n\nDiscuss solutions to common caregiving issues with other caregivers\nReduce feelings of isolation and stress\nLearn about area resources\nLearn about topics relative to caregiving\nBuild a support system with people who understand\n\nIndividuals are welcome to bring a friend or family member for additional support. SUMMARY:Breastfeeding Support Group
DESCRIPTION:To provide ongoing support for breastfeeding moms in the weeks and months following birth\, Sleepy Eye Medical Center offers a Breastfeeding Support Group. Pregnant moms are also welcome and encouraged to attend. The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Lower Level Lounge at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. \nSome concerns addressed during support group gatherings include milk supply\, teething\, breastfeeding and returning to work\, pumping and more.
